Priority Features for Version 2
From IHRIS Wiki
Based on feedback from the advisory committee and our pilot in Namibia, we have identified the following features as high priorities for the next iteration of iHRIS Plan. Incorporating these features requires moving to a more complex model than the one we are using in Version 1.0, such as the WHO/Tom Hall model. We will need consultation with workforce planning experts to correctly incorporate these features into the software.
- Regional and district modeling, including transfers between regions, that can be aggregated into a country-wide projection
- Pre-service training data that includes the number of years students are in training, how many are in each year, and how many graduate
- Enter ages of health workers and calculate the impact on exits
- Include public sector and private sector data
- Include benchmarks to help with making assumptions, such as WHO HRH targets
- Expand the user's manual to include workforce planning concepts and instructions
- Develop a wizard interface to guide the user through entering data and making assumptions
- Include a template for a strategic workplan that can be modified and incorporate projections/data
- Incorporate the ability to project the effects of interventions to aid with decision making
- Print projections with data sources and assumptions
- Export data to other systems
- Import data from other systems
